People
Menas Associates has a core team, a group of senior associates, and a large
network of in-country experts, sources, and analysts.
Menas core team members are professionals in diplomacy, risk management
consulting, international banking, academia, law, and journalism. Diversity
gives us a
profound understanding of the intersection of business and politics, and the
business implications of geopolitical change.
Menas senior associates are experts in specific regions or issues. We nurture
trusting, long-term relationships with our associates that underpin effective
teamwork.
The experts in our network have lived and worked for decades in the countries on
which we advise. They bring local insight and first-hand intelligence.
After a long career in the UK Foreign Office and then as Rolls-Royce's director
of Middle East Affairs, Noel Brehony joined Menas as chairman. He is the former
president of the British Society of Middle East Studies,
chair of the Council for British Research in the Levant, and an advisory board
member at the London Middle East Institute at SOAS and the council of the
British
Egyptian Society.
After joining Menas Services Ltd as a researcher in 1980, Charles Gurdon oversaw
the
restructuring of the Menas group in which Menas Associates became the parent
company. He has
run our consulting portfolio and publication stable for over 20 years. He has a
PhD from SOAS where he specialised in the Middle East and Africa.
Founding writer and editor of Brazil Focus, Georges Landau is a São Paulo
resident and managing director of Menas do Brasil Ltda. He has taught
international
economic relations around the world.
