Integrated impact assessment

Whether to guide strategic planning, project implementation or compliance with international standards, governments and industry have a growing need for integrated assessments of the political, socio-economic, environmental and cultural impacts of their activities around the world. Menas Associates takes an innovative, multidisciplinary approach to provide clients with independent and integrated assessments of the impacts of their investments and activities.

For all such assignments, Menas Associates assembles a multi-disciplinary team of select consultants, including country and industry experts, economists, socio-economic analysts and development practitioners. Project-managed by a member of Menas' core staff, the team will work closely with the client to establish the terms of reference for the study and the appropriate level of the team's involvement. Typically, the team will then lead on the following workstreams:

• collation of the available baseline data sets
• management of the stakeholder consultation programme
• studies of relevant comparator regions
• appointment and consultation of independent expert advisory boards to ensure credibility
• dissemination of key findings and recommendations
• project evaluation and debriefing.

We understand the range of potential motivations for a client to carry out such assessments, whether driven by regulatory obligations, social and environmental reporting standards, developmental objectives or as part of an enhanced approach to risk management.
